DaTechDaHaus

ABOUT DATECHDAHAUS

My name is Dj JohnDaTech (JDT), and for the past 11 years I have been running a music blog called the DaTechDaHaus. DaTechDaHaus has two symbolic meanings, one being part for my artist name DaTech, and DaHaus for House and "Bahaus" German school of art, design and architecture which was very influential for the modernist movement, and particularly in Architecture. My profession is in architecture, but my soul is in music, and music is an art form that transcends the spirit.

Since 2008 I have posted around 300 mixes and remastered mixes under the names of JohnDaTech and Ethereal-House, and most recently DaTechDaHaus. My mixes are dedicated to the underground sounds of Deep House and Detroit Techno music, and anything phonqy, soulful, and Tech. Deep House and Detroit Techno are two original sub-genres of House and Techno music that has remained true to its sound since their inception by Larry Heard aka Mr. Fingers for the development of Deep House, and the Belleville Three for the Development of Detroit Techno.

Deep House and Detroit Techno share similar musical qualities, from basslines, leads, beats, and its soulful, and phonqy attributes. Thanks to the underground movement both of these genres have survived the fads and pop culture of its sub-genres extinction. Thanks to djs and music hobbyist we shall keep Deep House and Detroit Techno alive for the next generation. Through the internet I found other dj’s and groups that share the similar love

Music has been part of my life since I was seven years old, and started collecting 12-inch vinyl at the age 10 years old, back in 1981. I was exposed to House and Detroit Techno back in 1987 while in High School, and since then I have devoted my collection to these genres of music. One of the biggest mistakes I did in my life when I was young was to loan my collection of music to a college dorm friend, he disappeared with my collection of most treasured 1989-1991. The best years of House. Thanks to the digital revolution and online music merchants I am recovering what I lost.

As I have stated in the past, I was a former clubber, did the club thing from 1988 through 2008.

My name is dj JohnDaTech, bedroom dj from Bethesda, Maryland and welcome to my House: DaTechDaHaus.
