MrMusic presents the BackToHouse Radioshow with Kemal & A. Romeno in da mix
At 28 years old, Kemal already boasts 11 years of experience as a DJ and 6 years as a producer. As with most music industry success stories, his interest in music started at a young age. At 6 years old he started to play the drums, age 9 he learned the guitar and through his teen years he added bass guitar and piano to his repertoire. Most significantly a week after his 18th birthday he took up his newest instrument, Djing. A Resident of Los Angeles, Kemal has just recently ended his long running residency of 6 years at Balance-LA to pursue life in a new direction. It was widely known to be the premier Saturday night spot for house music on the west coast. Kemal has had the opportunity to play alongside an all-star lineup of talent including Jamie Lewis, Jon Cutler, Jay Hannan, Mr.V, Alix Alvarez, Dj Spinna, Bobby & Steve, Marques Wyatt, the list goes on and on. Inspired by such great talent sparked an even more interest into creating his own music in the studio.
Kemals very first production with long time friend Steve Chin, [under the moniker “The Worlds Most Beautiful] was signed to John "JellyBean" Benitez to be released on his Jellybean Soul label. The releases landed them at a gig at the infamous Bang The Party NYC with Dj Eman in 2003. Since then Kemal has had further releases on respected labels such as Seasons Recordings, MN2S, Purple Trax, Indeependent and most recently Purple Music. Most recently Kemal has signed an exclusive artist deal with Jamie Lewis' Purple Music label, so look out for lots more original & remix productions from Kemal in 2009!

MrMusic - BackToHouse # 20 - Fred Everything - Track Listing
MrMusic presents the BackToHouse Radioshow with Fred Everything in da mix
EVERYTHING ABOUT FRED
“One of my favorite deep house producers.” - Ben Watt (Buzzin’ Fly)
“One of the best house djs on the planet.” - Ralph Lawson (20:20 Vision)
“House Music is always fresh when Fred Everything is at the controls.” - XLR8R
“It’a unquestionably the best house album of the year.” - iDJ Magazine
“You couldn’t ask for more from a summer record.” - Earplug
“This album not only plays like an encyclopedia of Dance music but also deserves to be a definite contender in your top ten albums of the year.” - M8
“Fred Everything’s album is quite possibly the most enjoyable hour of four-to-the-floor house I’ve heard for a very long time.” - DJ Magazine
Canadian DJ/Producer Fred Everything is a key player in the world of House Music and with 12 years in the music business and over 100 productions to his credit, he shows no signs of stopping. Born in Hull and raised in Quebec City, Fred got the early bug for electronic music in High School. He formed a few bands while spending his weekends as one of the youngest in local nightclubs. In the early 90s, he started playing live in raves and clubs in Canada. He was then known as “Everything,” because his live sets could range anywhere from techno to house, ambient and even drum and bass. He even got to open up for a then up and coming, Sasha. Tired of carrying his equipment around, mainly a TR909 and a SH101, he started DJ’ng and changed his name to Fred Everything. A move to the big city of Montreal was the next obvious thing, and it wasn’t too long after that Fred found himself releasing records on some of his favorite labels and catching the attention of DJ’s and producers worldwide.
His first major release got signed to UK label DIY in 1997. He also signed a few EP’s to Vinyl Peace in Toronto and the phone started ringing from labels left and right wanting to get an a piece of the new producer. But it was after giving a demo to 20:20 Vision boss Ralph Lawson in an after party in Toronto that things really got started for the young enthusiastic producer. Straight out of the plane in the UK, Ralph called him up and offered him a record deal. A few successful singles came out and the two talked about the next big step, a full length album. In 2000, while living in London, Fred released his first album “Under the Sun” on 20:20 Vision. The album was received as a breath of fresh air by the press worldwide and established Fred Everything as a name to watch. It was licensed to Virgin in Vienna and Tiga’s Turbo Records for North America. The follow up, “Light Of Day” (2004) also on 20:20 Vision, was cited as the best House album of the year by iDJ magazine in the UK. It featured artist such as Joseph Malik, Karl the Voice, Roy Davis and DJ Heather. Other collaborators throughout the years include: AtJazz, Mark Bell (Shaboom), The New Master Sounds, N’Dea Davenport (Brand New Heavies), Lisa Shaw, Tim Fuller, Olivier Desmet, JT Donaldson, Lance DeSardi, Tortured Soul, Joshua (Iz), Vincenzo, Andy Caldwell and many more. In 2003, Fred won best Electronic Artist at The Mimi’s award in Montreal.
The growing momentum of his releases also brought a lot of remix requests. As a remixer, Fred was able to put his touch not only to house pioneers such as Mood 2 Swing, Dennis Ferrer, Derrick Carter, Kings of Tomorrow, Robert Owens and Roy Davis but also new school sensations like Switch, Kaskade as well as cross over artists: Corrine Bailey Ray, N’Dea Davenport (Brand New Heavies), Ladybug Mecca (Digable Planets) and the late great Curtis Mayfield.
That’s without mentioning his sought after ‘underground’ remixes for the likes of Missy Elliot, Erykah Badhu, Outkast and MIA. In 2001, he released “From The Deep” on Bombay records, a collection of remixes released between 1998 and 2001.
Fred Everything’s productions have appeared on over 100 compilations worldwide by such various artists as Danny Tennaglia, Steve Lawler, Pete Tong, H-Foundation and Miguel Migs on labels like Defected, Ministry of Sound, NRK, Universal and countless Ibiza compilations. You probably also heard his music or seen his video for the song “Revolution” on many MTV shows. Little known fact, he was also House Music reviewer in XLR8R magazine for a few years.
Fred has also gained quite a reputation as a DJ. In 1997, on his first trip to the UK, he managed to get DJ magazine’s favorite set during In The City Conference at the Sub Club in Glasgow. Long time Back To Basics resident and 20:20 Vision label boss considers him to be “One of the best house dj on the planet.” led to him playing in some of the UK’s best clubs like Fabric, Back to Basics, Ministry Of Sound, Cream, Basement Jaxx parties, Lazy Dog and the list goes on.
With over a Million miles flown taking him all around the world to places he never even dreamed of visiting like Moskow, Istanbul, South Africa, Brazil, Japan, Bulgaria, Honolulu in clubs like Fabric (London), Pacha (Ibiza) Festival such as Montreal Jazz Festival, Toronto JVC Jazz Festival, and lately the 50,000 attended Electric Daisy Carnival He’s also held down residency at Stereo (Montreal), Next Door (Honolulu), Footwork (Toronto) and his own Lazy Days parties (Montreal, London, San Francisco). There’s also the obligatory Winter Music Conference where he can be seen for 10 years sharing the decks with people like Francois K, Mark Farina or King Britt.
His work as a DJ been immortalized on 3 mix cds. Disconnection (InMix, 1997) , DJ SET01 (Virgin, Intonation 2001), and the popular House Of Om Series (Om records, 2006). He’s also been hosted on radio shows worldwide in Copenhagen, Belgium, Turkey and England on radio station like Dynamo FM, Kiss FM, Ministry Of Sound Radio. He was also recently Ben Watt’s guest on his radio show on Galaxy FM in the UK.
Fred recently relocated from Montreal to San Francisco where he can be found working from the infamous Moulton Studios. His new album, Lost Together is out now on Om records and includes collaborations from Roy Davis Jr, Lisa Shaw, Tortured Soul, Tim Fuller and N’Dea Davenport from The Brand New Heavies. It’s been recorded in Montreal, Vancouver, San Francisco, New York, Hollywood and Tokyo. The first single “Here I Am” featuring Lisa Shaw has found its way to the number 3 on Traxsource’s top downloads and landed as Single of the week on Wasabeat.com. He’s also hard at work on his label Lazy Days who just got to their 10th release.

MrMusic - BackToHouse #14 -- Rasmus Faber - Track Listing
MrMusic presents the BackToHouse Radioshow with Rasmus Faber in da mix
Producer, musician, composer, remixer & DJ – Rasmus Faber has many strings to his bow. In his early years he mastered the skills of the jazz piano, and worked as a musician for many years, before falling in love with house music and production in the year 2001.
His debut release was courtesy of UK label Black Vinyl back in 2002, the inspirational 'Never Felt So Fly' captured many peoples hearts, bringing together the warming soulful tones of fellow Swede Melo, with the sweet musicianship & guile that Rasmus is so well known for to incorporate into his sound.
After two original releases on US label Sub-Urban and remixes for, among others, E-Smoove and Kenny Bobien, people were starting to show this young swede some serious attention.
He was hunted down by Defected Records chief Simon Dunmore to remix a forthcoming Dubtribe Sound System release.
Simon was so pleased with the work Rasmus delivered he quickly snapped up this unquestionable talent offering a management & label deal - Farplane Records was born. Soon after he got to rework Junior Jack's monster hit 'E-Samba'. Recording new vocals & completely reinventing the original, Rasmus´ remix went on to be played throughout the summer by the likes of Morillo, Tappert, Sanchez & Morales.
Released in 2003, 'Ever After' was Farplane Records' debut release, and went on to become a major hit and a timeless classic. This took Rasmus Faber's career to a new level, and after a faultless line of equally successful releases (such as 'Divided/United' and the Axwell remixed 'Get Over Here'), his name was fully established as a major player, his production trademark being combining dancefloor friendliness with flawless musical quality.
Recent years Rasmus have been as busy as ever, flying around the world performing doing live shows, and DJ-ing in his own unique style, playing the piano over his DJ sets. He has had global sucess with his music, in Japan even crossing over heavily into the commercial public, with chart topping albums and singles releases. New musical adventures are in sight, both exploring the musical fields completely outside of the dance scene, as well as going deeper into the more big room sounds of house, releasing harder and more electronic tracks and remixes under the RaFa moniker.
Rasmus remains highly active in the studio, being asked to work with labels including Defected, King St, Salted, Code Red, Seasons, Shifted Music, Soulfuric, Knee Deep, Soundmen on Wax & Nero Records, while Farplane Records continue to grow as an outlet for quality house music. His endless talents & ambitious attitude have taken him across the globe. Completing remixes for such artists as Miguel Migs, Jay-J, Axwell, Sandy Rivera, Oreja, and Reel People only cement the fact that this talented Swede, still only in his late 20's, is in high demand, and at the peak of his game!
New single: Rasmus Faber feat Linda Sundblad "Everything Is Alright"
December 8th marks the release of Rasmus Faber's new single "‘Everything Is Alright’". An ambitious, masterful blend of deep, musical house with a heart of pop, ‘Everything Is Alright’ will put Rasmus on the map as a crossover act on a par with the likes of Roisin Murphy and Basement Jaxx. Take the colours of Robyn, 4 Hero and some fresh nu-disco, mix them up and you get a picture of ‘Everything Is Alright’. An uplifting, cinematic dawn of pianos and strings gives way to the sugary, innocent vocals of Linda Sundblad, which roll out to the end - half a song structure, half a house 12”. In the ambient tradition of ‘Smokebelch 2’ and ‘Offshore’ remixes, Rasmus provides the ‘Chillax mix’, taking the track to new heights of airy brightness. Lovebirds, (who already have fans in Prins Thomas, Ashley Beedle, Tom Middleton and Bill Brewster) deliver vocal and instrumental remixes, perfectly pitched between cosmic disco and shiny new house. Spiritchaser member and Guess & Duffnote Records label boss Richard Earnshaw provides more house flavours whilst Rasmus also provides a clean, infectious and building Club Mix.

MrMusic - BackToHouse #6 -- Terry Hunter -- - Track Listing
MrMusic presents the BackToHouse Radioshow with the Legendary Terry Hunter in da Mix
With his roots intertwined in house music for the past 15 years, Terry Hunter has traveled the globe sharing his passion for soulful house music while continuing to produce dance-floor packing hits for his Ts Box record label. Pleased with the success he has garnered in the house music community, but still looking to fulfill his appetite with new genres of music Terrys latest adventure in his musical journey showcases his production talent in the hip hop arena.
Born in August 1970 on the Southside of Chicago, Terry was introduced to music at a young age, I really didn’t know I could make a living at becoming a DJ at first. I just thought it would be an expensive hobby because at the time I was a vinyl junkie which was an expensive habit. Terry continues, My love became so strong for DJing that I spent entire summers in my bedroom & local records stores just hanging around & not playing with my friends. Thats when a few years later, I knew in my heart this is what I was born to do. Having the influence of music all around him, at a time when the Chicago house music scene was on the verge of an international explosion, Terry debuted onto the scene with his first release, a house track entitled Madness. I created a big buzz on the record by playing it myself at various parties," Terry states, It started out as a basement track, but became much more.
Having made an impact on the local scene with his first track, he moved on to create a style of spinning that consisted of collaborating great songs with a unique soulful presence. Being one of the masterminds behind UBQ, he then teamed up with Music Plant, a music production and talent management company. Terry began DJing throughout the world enlightening his fans with his signature sound which has become a blueprint for many DJs to follow.
During these travels, various musical influences abroad expanded his outlook, which allowed him to include some of it into his production. Terry has lent his production talents to classics such as When I Fell In Luv, Sweet Music, Out on the Dance Floor and the club crossover anthem from Georgie Porgie, Life Goes On. He has also remixed tracks for artists such as Michael Jackson, Twista, Mary J. Blige, and Masters At Work. Terry has also co-written tracks with Raheem DeVaughn, You (Jive), Syleena Johnson, And He Makes Me Say (Jive) and Rhymefest Mr. Bluecollar (J Records). Alongside longtime friend Kenny Dope, Terry also remixed the Kanye West track Addiction (Dope Wax), which has become a staple in DJ record crates.
An active member of the Violator All Star DJs, Terry is excited about his work with fellow Chi-town native Rhymefest. The two have formed Plugg City an outlet for Chicago hip hop and R&B. Terry has also been instrumental in the development of Twone Gabz an up and coming Chicago hip hop artist.
Asked about the future, Terry declares, I see myself with plenty of hit records while trying to educate the younger generation to appreciate musicianship along with their own individual style.
